Soprano Elizabeth Mitchell is a versatile performer whose repertoire ranges from opera to cabaret to art song. She received her Master of Music degree from the University of Michigan and her Bachelor of Music degree from the University of Utah both in Vocal Performance. While at the University of Michigan, Elizabeth studied with renowned pedagogue George Shirley and coached with Martin Katz and Timothy Cheek. For the past three seasons, Ms. Mitchell has performed with Michigan Opera Theater chorus under the direction of Suzanne Acton. With MOT, Elizabeth has had the opportunity to work with opera greats Renata Scotto, Richard Bonynge, Lofti Mansouri and Denyce Graves. Previously, Ms. Mitchell worked for three seasons with Ohio Light Opera Company, singing multiple roles and can be heard on the company’s recording of The Firefly (Albany Records). Recently, Elizabeth was an international finalist at the Lotte Lenya Competition for Singers and a semi-finalist at the International Czech and Slovak Competition.
